Well, there is no place like home. We arrived last night and it was so good to sleep in my own bed with the bathroom just right there. It was a really good trip. Long but good. We had a good time at Badger Creek and it was good to see where Sarah has been the last 8 months and understand why she loved what she was doing. I know that she has been a real asset there and done a lot of good service. We did a lot of things.....played hand and foot where the boys beat the girls twice only because we let them. We went to Driggs and got a famous milk shake at the corner drug store, appreciated the firewood that was there for us, and met with Sarah's boss and had a wonderful dinner. We were able to attend the beautiful Rexburg temple, played in the snow, climbed the power pole, climbed the incline log and then did the mistake of letting the kids put me on a giant swing that I will never do again. We had a small but good Thanksgiving dinner made in a huge kitchen in the lodge. It was the first time we ate on styrofoam plates for Thanksgiving.
It was good to be there, but it made me appreciate my nice warm home in Bakersfield. I did like the beautiful country and the good people there, but appreciated home more and realize even more that I am not a cold weather person. My children seem to be....must of gotten that from their Bedke genes.
It was good to be with my girls again. They are so much fun and I miss having them around. It will be good to have them home for Christmas. We were able to stop and visit with Doug, Pam, Andrea and Jacob in Draper. They fed us some wonderful food and we were able to hit the road again. It had been a long time since we were able to see them and it was wonderful to have a visit with them.
I included some of the few pictures that were taken. Chelsea has the rest.
When we got home we were able to see Karl and his sweet family. They are so cute and fun to be with. We are thankful that they are close enough that we get to see them often. They had to head home to "real life" just like the rest of us.
